Woman of Vision celebrates women in our community who exemplify or personify the YWCA mission of eliminating racism and empowering woman, through innovated or groundbreaking service to the community, particularly that which benefits women, girls and/or minorities. We honor strong women who have taken personal risks to advocate for self and blazed a trail for others, launched a new solution to a community issue, or created an innovative program with broad and lasting impact. A Woman of Vision is a tireless self-starter, always looking for a need to be filled. She is a leader not only institutionally or through programming, but also on the ground; a living example of her values, accessible and inspirational to others in daily life as a mentor, friend, adviser and role model.
YWCA Wausau also offers a scholarship , available to women graduating high school in Marathon County or returning to school as a non-traditional student. Visit our scholarships page for more information and to apply.
The event will be held Thursday, June 8th at Greenwood Hills. Tickets on sale now: https://www.secure.unitedwaymc.org/womenofvision
